There is a new celebrity amongst us.  We knew as soon as we met him he had the X Factor and that he belonged with us at The Fire Basket.  Much like the Browns in one of our family’s favourite books “A Bear Called Paddington”, we didn’t expect a new addition to our family and yet since we took in and adopted Sparkles our lives have been richer and well, more sparkly! 

Sparkles tells us his life was quite different before he arrived.  Unlike most of his Reindeer kin he didn’t come from the North Pole but a strange and enchanting place called “Gloucester”.  It was his deerist wish to be part of the Fishponds Reindeer Trail and when he heard we had a space in our shop window he couldn’t believe his luck.   

Since then he has taken pride of place on top of our Yeoman Devon stove shining like the star he is.  When I told him he was a Facebook sensation, he looked at me his eyes twinkling and said … nothing.  His silence saying more than words ever could.
